As we are in Faith series, I would like to deal the question "Why without faith it is impossible to please God? "

Intimacy with God comes only after the redemption of sin. Until we are completely free from sin we are deprived of a relationship with God because God and sin can never be reconciled. Salvation comes from faith. As Paul wrote to the church of Ephesus, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast" - Ephesians 2:8-9.
We cannot please God with our great work, good deeds and philanthropic works but only with our faith.
Jesus, the (founder and perfecter of our faith - Hebrew 12:2), was impressed with a roman captain in Capernaum and said this word, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith" - Matthew 8:10. This captain whose backgrounds were very different from those of the Jews (who knew God) undoubtedly believed in the authority and power of Jesus Christ. What an amazing faith! right?
Dear people, when obstacles and problems in your life hits you, when you have to go through hardship and shortcomings, when you have to face oppositions, persecution and humiliations of people, can you still believe that God has authority over all situation? Do you believe that God can protect you in all those storms?
The same steadfast and unshakable faith can impress God.
