The church and the kingdom are not synonyms.
Because you are a member of church doesn't mean that you are experiencing the kingdom. And many pastors and Christian leaders have not taken time to separate this two things. Matter of fact, they don't preach kingdom hardly ever.

What is the church ? What is the Kingdom?

The Kingdom existed before the church. Matthew 25:34

The key to the kingdom was the influence of heaven on earth by the holy spirit through the agency of mankind. So God always wanted the kingdom to be here and it existed before the church. The fall of man caused the departure of the Holy Spirit from the spirit of man and therefore man lost the kingdom influence over the earth. God wanted to influence the world by the Holy Spirit through man and when man lost the Holy Spirit , man lost the heavenly influence on earth. Because Holy Spirit was God's connection between heaven and earth. So God what really wants us to represent is the Kingdom.

What is the kingdom of Heaven?

Very important question. In the Bible, there are two statements you can read all the time, in the four gospels, even in Paul's writings.

One statement is the kingdom of Heaven the next statement is the kingdom of God.

This two statements are not the same. The Kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of God are different dimensions of the kingdom.

The kingdom of Heaven is the domain of heaven where the king who is God Himself, He rules there and He reign. So the kingdom of Heaven is a domain. It is actually a territory, it's a place. In that domain He exercises authority and power over that territory. So the kingdom of Heaven is the place where God has direct influence control and rulership. In the statement, "the kingdom of Heaven" is the place. So whenever you see 'the kingdom of Heaven' in the Bible used by Jesus or Paul they are referring to the place where God is ruler and king over the territory.

The kingdom of God is different. The kingdom of God is any domain where the ruler ship influence an authority of God is in effect. For example, central government of Nepal lies in Kathmandu, province 3 where the government rules from. All the province, state and regions are called Nepal but the government is on one province. Now the government has established local government bodies in other provinces to execute the government administration in those provinces. So when you go to one of our province in Nepal you are still under the government but the government is actually in Kathmandu but due to local authoritative bodies there still lies the influence of government. The kingdom of God is those places and territories where the influences of God is exercised through local bodies. The kingdom of God is God's kingdom is dominating an area. So what God wanted was to stay in heaven just like central government but to impact and influence earth without going there through local bodies which is His church.
